Rosé All Day at Hampton Social

Hi! Thanks for stopping by! If you love good food and a fabulous atmosphere, definitely keep reading.

Do you ever go out of town and find a gem of a place? A place so good you make it a point to visit every time you’re there? Well, that place for me is Hampton Social. I discovered it about 4 years ago when a friend used to live in Chicago. We made a reservation on a whim because she had heard good things about it. When we arrived we were pleasantly surprised by the atmosphere and service and were quickly anxious to be seated with our menus.
Looking around, there were tons of girls our age who wanted to take photos of their food and selfies in the mood lighting. That’s not why we were there but we quickly turned into “those girls”. After we were seated we looked up to find the famous Rosé All Day grass wall. Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you know that rosé has become a staple in pop culture – the drink of choice by of age millennials. To be honest, I hate rosé. It gives me a massive headache but it’s distinct color makes for pretty pictures.
So we take a look at the what seemed to be delicious menu and debated what each of us should order. “Ok, you order the pasta and I’ll try the lobster roll and we’ll get a bottle of wine to share!” We had it all figured out and stared at every plate that came by. Finally our food arrives and just as we had hoped, the food tasted as good as the atmosphere.
Hampton Social is inspired by The Hamptons. It has a preppy, beachy vibe with seafood options at the forefront of the menu. One side of the restaurant has you feeling like you’ve stepped onto a boat where you’ll sail out in style while the other side serves great lighting and photo ops. Hampton Social also has live music from local artists. Talented guys who’s voices resemble John Meyer or Ed Sheeren, making for great background music to sip your Rosé or specialty cocktail to. And you’ll enjoy a great brunch or dinner here.
Hampton Social has multiple locations in the Illinois area and I’m hoping that one day they branch out and grace us with a location in Michigan. Wishful thinking, I know, but a girl can only dream about a market fresh lobster roll in great lighting with live music so much!

The Beach Detroit

The Beach. It was so fun it deserved a blog post!

If you follow Fabcocktail, you’ll know I’m all about interactive art. So when I found out The Beach was coming to Detroit, I had to jump on it.

The Beach is essentially a giant ball pit that simulates a beach. It’s a refreshing “getaway” in the heart of downtown Detroit that let’s you release your inner kid all while reminiscing of sunny days on the beach.

Created by artists snarkitecture, Library Street Collective has brought this interactive work of art to the D. Swimming in a giant pit of balls is not typically something you think about doing but it’s brining in crowds from all age groups. This interactive exhibit will be here until April 14. Be sure to reserve your spot online.

Pro Tips:

  1. Be prepared to get a mini workout in. Navigating through the balls wasn’t as easy as I thought!
  2. You can bring your own floaty but there are several on hand and they make for super cute photos!
  3. The Beach is not responsible for any lost items. HOLD ON TO YOUR YOU PHONES.
  4. Want to make those photos pop? Wear lots of color! The beach is essentially a blank canvas with impeccable lighting.

Thank u, Blessed

I’m blessed with everything I need. I am working hard towards everything I want. And most of all, I appreciate and Thank God for what I have. Truer words have never been written!

Some of you may know I came from a sad place a few years ago. I was in an unhealthy relationship, my workplace was toxic, and years prior I was laid off. I really had to trust in God and walk by faith to get where I am today. I’m by no means in the place I want to be, but coming from my past, it’s a true blessing to be so much happier.

My work/life balance is better, I’m in a healthy relationship and I have grown my relationship with The Lord. Sometimes I ponder what life could be like and get caught up thinking about things I don’t have yet. But I have to remember how far I’ve come and I can only go UP from here.

God has truly blessed not only me but those around me. My friends and family may have their ups and downs, too but in the end we always come out on top. Because….we are blessed!

I was so excited to see this hat by Beacon Threads, faith-based apparel, pop up on my Instagram feed. I instantly purchased so I would have a constant reminder that I am blessed. Blessed in love, health, wealth, and happiness. And I can’t wait to see what else God has in store for me and those around me.

This adjustable dad hat is perfect for bad hair days, running errands, Church, and fun weekend outings. Get yours here.

Thank u, blessed.

The Difference Between Good-Looking & Great-Looking

If you are keen to look your absolute best at all times – and who isn’t? – Then there are going to be a number of factors that you need to pay attention to as closely as you can manage. Looking truly great is something of an art mixed with science, and it often takes people many years indeed to be able to work out how to do it for them. Of course, everyone is different, so it is something that you are going to need to work out alone for the most part, but as long as you do you should be able to get to a point where you really are happy with how you look most of the time. In this post, we are going to look at three factors in particular which are bound to make the difference between good-looking and great-looking; be sure to focus on these if you are keen to make that kind of a change to your own look.

Attention To Detail

Although it can often seem as though the details of what you are wearing are not important, or at least not as important as the overall effect, you would be mistaken. Actually, the more that you are able to focus on the details of your outfit, the more likely it is that it will look truly sensational, so you should try to always make it a point that you do this when you are trying to look your best. If you manage to do it at all times, it will be especially effective, and you will find that you manage to look amazing much more often than you might have even thought possible. It’s all about ensuring everything works together, from your Fifth Collection Louis Vuitton bag to your shoes, so that the look as a whole is much more successful.

Hair & Skincare

You need to at least follow the very basics of looking after both your hair and skin if you are to look your absolute best at all times, and if you are lacking in either of these areas then it is bound to make a considerable difference to how you look indeed. You need to make sure you keep your hair clean at all times, and that your skin is being looked after – that means not just washing regularly, but avoiding overexposure to the sun and using a decent moisturizer daily. If you can do those basics, you will find that you are much more prone to looking truly great, so it is absolutely worth thinking about.

Smile

Finally, it is hugely important to remember the value of a genuine, full smile. If you smile while out and about, you will drastically improve the appearance you have, to a degree which might truly amaze you. You will start to receive some amazing responses from the outside world, and you will be more likely to keep it up as a result. So make sure that you smile wherever possible and consider it a part of your overall look.

Sunday Funday in Detroit

We all know global warming is bad for the planet but who doesn’t love a great sunny day in the midst of winter? SUNday Funday takes on a whole new meaning when temperatures hit above 40 degrees in January!

The weather this past weekend was pretty fab so a friend and I played tourists on our home turf and hit Lumen for some lunch and libations.

In case you’re in the Detroit area during winter, make sure to stop by Lumen and experience an igloo. Igloos are first come, first serve but community seating based on the number of people in your party. Either way, it’s a fun (heated) experience. A full menu is served in the igloos which come equipped with heaters and furry blankets.

Another great thing about global warming – you get to step out of your stuffy boots and puffy coats. I’m not at all a fan of cold weather so any time I can throw on something cute, colorful and technically made for warmer temps, I’m all about it. Hence, sporting my new Adidas Falcons (thanks to bae 😉😘). BTW, these Adidas Falcon sneakers are super comfy and fun. They come in multiple color ways and are decently affordable for a specialty shoe.

Get out. Have fun. Explore your home town. And look fab while doing it!

It’s Beginning to Look A Lot Like Christmas

Snow is falling, lights are twinkling, and Mariah Carey’s “All I want for Christmas” is playing on every other radio station. You know what that means – Christmas is around the corner! I’m not one to fall on the Christmas bandwagon as soon as the click strikes midnight on November 1st; but now that it’s nearing mid-December, I am starting to get in the Christmas spirit.

I have become someone who believes that things will happen when they are supposed to happen. No need to rush things. It kind of goes for Christmas too. As a society we’ve started celebrating the holiday earlier and earlier each year. We all know when the ACTUAL day of Christmas will come, yet we stress and scurry to buy gifts and toys, decorate and even play Christmas tunes. We even sometimes forget that Jesus is the real reason for the season.

You ever heard the saying good things come to those who wait? Yup. Wait for things to happen, don’t rush them and good will come. Just like the joy of Christmas morning. It’s coming, it will be great, but no need to rush it.

Outfit Details:

Overall Dress – Forever 21

Cold Shoulder Sweater – Fashion Nova

But in the spirit of the season, I wish you all a happy holiday – whatever you celebrate. 🙂
