Eat These Things if You Want Healthier Skin

A healthy diet is an important factor for your well being, but nit everyone realizes just how much what you eat can affect your skin. Most people know that an unhealthy diet is bad for your heart, bad for your liver and can lead to some cancers and such conditions like type 2 diabetes, but if you want your skin to stay looking good and not age so quickly, your diet is crucial for that as well.
Food for skin
There are some food and drinks that are especially good for your skin, and here are the details of just a few of them.
Tomatoes
As well as being a brilliant source of vitamin C, tomatoes also contain beta-carotene, lutein, and lycopene, which have all been shown to help keep wrinkles at bay and protect your skin from too much damage from the sun.  Eat them with something fatty such as cheese, and the amount of these carotenoids that are absorbed by your body will increase, making them an excellent choice for keeping your skin healthy.
Nuts
All nuts contain the fatty acids our bodies need, but walnuts especially have more than most others. Walnuts have omega-3 and omega-, which can help to reduce inflammation in your body, including any on your skin.  Omega-6 is available in many foods of a western diet, but omega-3 is less so.
Just one ounce of walnuts contains enough zinc for your skin to act as a barrier against infections and bacteria. It will also help with the healing of any wounds you sustain. They also have smaller amounts of antioxidants and other vitamins that are good for your skin.
As well as nuts, sunflower seeds are another example of a good source of skin-boosting nutrients.
Broccoli
Broccoli is so full of vitamins and nutrients that it is good for every part of your body, including your skin, so if you want to look great load your plate up with it. It contains a substance known as Lutein, which can help to prevent your skin from becoming damaged and wrinkled. It also has sulforaphane, which it is thought has some anti-cancer benefits.
Red Wine
Red wine contains something known as resveratrol that comes from the skin of the grapes used to make it. This compound is credited with many health benefits, among them, reducing the effects of aging on your skin. Red wine is also said to boost your immune system, reduce the risk of a stroke and heart disease and help with lowering cholesterol. With all these health benefits, it is good that you can buy red wine online cheaply. Just remember that it is an alcoholic drink though; so do not drink it to excess, as then the health benefits will be canceled out.
Green Tea
Green tea has been a favorite in Asian countries for centuries, which could help to explain why the natives of these countries have such good skin. It contains powerful compounds called catechins and these are good for your skin for several reasons. They will help to protect it from the damage caused by the sun and will improve your skin’s elasticity.
There is evidence, however, that drinking it with milk reduces its impact, so enjoy it just on its own.
Dark Chocolate
If ever you needed an excuse to eat chocolate, here it is. Not the ones made with lots of milk though. You need to eat dark chocolate that is at least 70% cocoa, as it is that that has really good effects on your skin.
Cocoa powder is high in antioxidants. It will help to hydrate your skin, make it less rough and scaly and makes it less sensitive to the sun. It also creates a better blood flow, which will result in more nutrients reaching your skin. All of these things will mean your skin is less likely to wrinkle, and several studies have all come to the same conclusions.
Avocados
Avocados have so many health benefits that they are recommended for most diets. From the point of view of your skin, they contain healthy fats that help to keep it flexible and moisturized.  The healthy fats found in avocados have been found to protect your skin from wrinkles and aging and will help to fight off the effects of damage caused by the sun.
People have been saying for years that you are what you eat, and this will especially show in the condition of your skin. Make sure your diet includes vitamins, antioxidants, and essential nutrients if you want your skin to stay looking young and healthy.
