I can’t thank fellow blogger boo, Nailah of The Moda Intersection, enough for granting me with the opportunity to be one of the four models on a Fox 2 News Detroit style segment recently! And I can’t thank you guys enough for all of the support. Many thanks to everyone who tuned in! Now here’s how it all started….
A huge fan of JCPenney, the retailer noticed Nailah’s fabulous style via social media and invited her to take part in an opportunity of a lifetime. Nailah was selected for a JCPenney campaign called JCP Muse which included a photoshoot at Milk Studios in NYC (Gah! So amazing!), the chance to meet other fabulous real women who love JCPenney, and be part of JCP’s first-ever JCP Muse campaign with a feature in the spring lookbook.
As a spin-off of the campaign, Nailah was then invited by one of our local news stations to speak on her experience as a JCP Muse plus share her style tips. The focus of the segment was taking JC Penney garments and transitioning them from spring to summer.
As a model for the segment, I was Nailah’s muse proving that JCPenney has amazing clothing for everyone at amazing prices. I will admit, prior to working with Nailah on this project, JCPenney was not my first choice for shopping for cute, trendy clothing. However, the company recently went through a mass re-brand and now focuses on providing attractive, affordable clothing for the everyday man and woman. In such an on-the-go society, transitional pieces are a must and JCPenney realizes that, creating go-to garments.
WHAT I WORE:
Nailah played up my fun and cutesy personal style by choosing a fun graphic tee, bold skirt to hug my curves and an amazing floral jacket for easy transition from spring to summer, or even day to night.
I had such a wonderful time playing in clothing at JCPenney and being on live television (crazy change of pace from being behind the camera as an intern). I want to thank both Nailah and JCPenney again for the opportunity! Check out a quick video of some behind the scenes footage of this exciting and fashionable adventure.
