Motown The Musical

October 24, 2014

There’s something about music that brings people together. It’s a common ground of enjoyment and that’s exactly the feeling you get while experiencing Motown The musical. I was graciously invited to attend the special Red Carpet celebration of Detroit’s run of Motown The Musical and was moving in my seat with joy and excitement all night.
The special Red Carpet event paid homage to Motown legends like Stevie Wonder, Smokey Robinson and the creator of Motown himself, Berry Gordy! These incredible artists played an intricate role in the music we know and love today.
Motown The Musical tells the story of the peaks and struggles of the music industry from the late 50s until Motown’s 25th Anniversary in the 80s. Founder Berry Gordy set his sights high and met incredible achievements in music with the help of  stars like Diana Ross, Marvin Gaye, Smokey Robinson and The Jackson 5.

Motown The Musical is a true celebration of music with some great nods to Motown’s home of Detroit. As the musical runs at The Fisher Theater now until November 16, I highly recommend seeing this amazing production. There’s music and fun for everyone to relate and enjoy, plus unexpected but delightful audience interaction. Not to mention, amazing retro fashion with lots of color, glitz and glam!
