Benefits of Cucumbers

When life throws opportunities at you, sometimes you have to cut corners and make sacrifices in other areas to do what you need to do. This post is dedicated to everyone who is out here killing it but sacrificing time in the gym to make life happen.

As you may have seen from my Instagram, I was working out pretty regularly but recently, opportunity basically started pouring in and I’ve had to sacrifice a lot of gym time. Now I’m no doctor or health professional and I don’t condone completely cutting the gym out (I’ve had the opportunity to be more consistent since writing this originally!), but consuming cucumbers has really helped me maintain and not gain while I’ve taken my short gym break.

For the past few weeks, I have drank what me and a fabulous little three-year-old call, Unicorn Juice, either before bed, in the morning, or sometimes both.

Ingredients:

  • Cucumbers
  • Lemons
  • Aloe Vera Juice
  • Ginger
  • Water

Blend above ingredients and enjoy. I have certainly noticed a difference since enjoying my Unicorn Juice. The days I drink it, my tummy is a little flatter, my skin is clearer, and I just feel healthy drinking it. Here’s a tip: incorporate cucumbers into your diet in other ways too. Snack on cucumbers and hummus at work when instead of a bag of chips. It’s been a delightful and nutritious addiction to my meals.

  • Low in calories, high in important minerals
  • Promotes hydration
  • May aide in weight loss
  • Helps with regularity
  • May lower blood sugar
  • Helps with inflammation and blood clotting (this did drastically change the first two days of my cycle)
